He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Griffin (Leas); his children, Donald James Griffin III of Lahaina, HI and Katie Griffin of North Brookfield; his grandson Adam Griffin; and his brothers, Doug and Gregg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the North Brookfield American Legion Post 41 (163 N Main St, North Brookfield, MA 01535).
