He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Grove and Susan Grove (Hensley); his brother Robert; and his former wife Karen Grove (Hill). He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Young); his sons, Dave (Laura Grove) of Ridgefield Connecticut, Matthew (Diane Grove) of Tewksbury Massachusetts and James (Niki Paton) of Denver; his siblings, Linda (Hidemi Kondo) of Tokyo Japan and Ken (Sharon Grove) of Boise; his grandchildren, Amy, Tim, Alex and Caroline Grove; and his nieces and nephews, Kei Kondo, Bryan and Heather Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's memory to Camp Calumet (https://www.calumet.org) or Trinity Lutheran Church.
