Ruth Margaret Richardson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Margaret Richardson in North Adams, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 15, 2025 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Felix and Rosalie Esther LaForest (Archambault); her daughter Gail; her brothers, Herman E. and Richard L. LaForest; and her nieces and nephews, Susan LaForest, Carol Wagner (LaForest), Robert LaForest and William LaForest.
She is survived by: her friends, Jason M. LaForest (Suzanne), Sam Manandhar (Kerry), Teresa McLain (Michael), Paul LaForest, Daniel LaForest, Beth Armstrong (Pete) and Lori Butterfield (Mike); and also, Benjamin, Nicholas LaForest, Stephen, Michael, Ashley McLear, Kristine Fitzgerald (Laura), Christopher and David Butterfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Flynn&dagnoli-Montagna Home For Funerals Central Chapel (74 Marshall St, North Adams, MA 01247). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Patrick and Raphael Church (54 Southworth St, Williamstown, MA 01267). She continued her service as an ombudsman until the age of 95 and fearlessly advocated for patients and their families throughout the Covid pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saints Patrick and Raphael Food Pantry through the funeral home.
