Jim Hackett wrote a sympathy message

“I am deeply saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. Scott was one of my closest friends during high school & we shared many fun times & hearty laughs together. The friendship was born in Newton Youth Soccer. He was a goalkeeper & I was a fullback. We joked often that our midfielders & strikers were so good that we could leave the field & nobody would notice. Always quick to laugh & make people laugh, I’m sad that he’s gone. God bless old friend & thanks for being a great friend during those years.”

“I am so heartbroken to learn of Scott’s passing. Scott and I were classmates at Newton North High School, and I still fondly remember him and his sweet smile. He was always so funny and super cool and very easy to talk to. We had so much fun watching him at the basketball games and cheering for him in the stands. He was one of our star players! He will truly be missed. Sending my love and condolences to his family and loved ones. ~Ayanna Fraley-Moore (NNHS c/o 1988)”

Andrew Dixon wrote a sympathy message

“Very saddened to learn of Scott’s passing. We lost touch after high school but I remember him fondly. From our Sunday School classes at Myrtle Baptist to our summer league basketball games in Roxbury, piano lessons at ANMS to the hallways, classes and basketball games at Newton North where we were teammates he was without a doubt one of coolest and funniest and down to earth guys I’d ever met. Sincerest condolences to his mother, his brother and his entire family. -Drew Dixon”
