He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Proia and Maria Proia (Marzilli); his brothers, Larry Proia and Joseph Proia Jr.; and his father-in-law John Barton.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne (Barton); his siblings, Lucy of Newton and Philip of Bellingham; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Proia of Newton, Lea Roy of Newton and Sonia Proia of Bellingham; his nephews, Joseph "JD" Proia and Christopher; his niece Catherine "Catie" Proia-Roy; and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Barton. He is also survived by his family and friends.
