Rita L. Sheehy Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita L. Sheehy (Newton, Massachusetts), who passed away on March 18, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita L. Sheehy to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Welch and Mary Welch (Herlihy); her husband Richard C. Sheehy Sr.; her daughter Mary R. Sheehy; and her siblings, Mary McMillen, Daniel, Gerard Welch, Alice Patterson and Joan Sheehy.
She is survived by: her children, Richard C. Jr. (Julia Shea) and Linda A. Sheehy; and her grandson William Figliolini of Newtonville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home (465 Centre St, Newton, MA 02458). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady's Church (573 Washington St, Newton, MA 02458). A burial will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (250 High St, Waltham, MA 02453).
Rita was one of the founding members of the Barry Price Rehabilitation Center in Newton, donations in her memory to the Price Center 27 Christina St. Newton, MA 02461 would be appreciated.
