It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Kanellias of Newton, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Kanellias to pay them a last tribute.

Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mary touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Demetrios M. Kanellias; her sons, Michael D. Kanellias (Maria) and Peter Kanellias (Dao); and her sister Penelope Dhionis (George). She was also cherished by many relatives and friends.

“I am so so very sorry for your loss. Mary was my mom‘s best friend for so many years. She made my mom‘s wedding dress. And she is credited for giving me the name, Lucette. I visited Mary at the rehab shortly after she was admitted.. I’ve always thought she was an amazing woman and I’m so sad to learn she has passed.. She had a beautiful family loved her children and her grandchildren which she told me all about. I will miss her very much. My deepest sympathy, Lucette (Hunt) Nicoll (daughter of Millie Hunt)”

“Love & final words to our dear friend, Mary...a friend for 57 years-never had an argument.....just shared stories, family news and times together. The 4 boys were the central interest in the growing up years. We shared gatherings with her family & extended family at her home. During these later years, we brought pizza & Mary served her wonderful Greek pastries. We would just reminisce about the past years. Mary always spoke of love for children & pride in her grandchildren. Renee & Jack”
