It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Robert Lyons of Newton, Massachusetts, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 1, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lyons (Rigney) and William "Nick" Lyons; and his brothers, William, Richard and Michael Lyons.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Bierman of Newton, James, Christa Lyons of Framingham, Paul and David Lyons of Newton; the mother of his children Rosalie Lyons; his grandsons, James Robert Lyons, III and Matthew Joseph Lyons; his siblings, Mary Kane of Cambridge, Edward Lyons of Stoneham and John Lyons of Readville; and his close friend Eileen Rosen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4-7 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Burke and Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St, West Newton, Street in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brookhaven Hospice at https://www.brookhavenhospice.com.
