He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Waxman; his daughters, Dr. Julie Potter and Dr. Carrie Potter; his sons-in-law, Vincenzo Bertoli and Dr. Colin Smith; his grandchildren, Luciano, Olivia Bertoli, Ross and Miles Smith; his sibling Jackie Potter; his brother-in-law William Black; his nephews, Samuel and Daniel Black; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Harvey Waxman and Susan Feldman; his nephews, Matthew and Alex Waxman; his parents, Arnold Potter and Selma Potter; and his grandson Luc.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Save Popponesset Bay.

“Dear Betty, Julie, Carrie and family, I have such fond memories of dinners together over the past three decades. Only a week ago, Pam and I spent a long, delicious evening with you two for dinner and ballet. While Harry always good-naturedly accompanied Betty to the ballet, he seemed enthralled to Sleeping Beauty. I am so, so sorry for your loss. I still cannot believe that Harry is gone, let alone imagine what you are going through. There's a hole in our universe where Harry should be. --Jon”
