She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lee Koretz and Louis Koretz; her husband Herbert Shapira; her sons, David of Brookline, Michael (Alicia) of Parkland, Florida, Daniel (Lauryn) of Ashland and Andrew (Stephanie) of Jamaica Plain; and her grandsons, Zachary and Aiden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harriet's memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Community Care hospice or the American Cancer Society.
