He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hamilton; his children, Debbie Hamilton of Newton, David Hamilton (Joan) and Sandy Hamilton of Newton; his grandchildren, Jasmyne (Mohammed Alaswad), David Jr. (Samantha), Angela (Connor Palma) and Gina; his great grandchild Oliver; his siblings, Sheryl Nutile of Waltham, Robert Hamilton of Waltham and Richard Goinsalvos; his sister-in-law Robyn Goinsalvos; his nephew Adam Goinsalvos (Bree); his great-nephew Evan; and his great-niece Amelia.

Don later embarked on a career driving for Veterans Taxi, which unfortunately came to an end due to the pandemic.
