He is survived by: his son Herman (Eva Lester); his brother Dr Robert Lester of Florida; his wife Laura; his daughter Jennifer Lester Rubin (David); his granddaughter Rebecca; his daughter Melinda Johnson (Michael); his grandchildren, Matthew and Madison; his stepdaughter Wendy Hyde; his stepgrandchildren, Connor and Emma; his stepson Gregory Hyde; his stepgrandchildren, Trevor and Tegan; his stepchildren, Daniel Hyde and Jiao; and his stepgranddaughter Isabella.

A donation in David's name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
