It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita M. Aucoin of Newton Center, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Burke and Mary Burke; her husband Edward T. Aucoin; her granddaughter Danielle Aucoin; and her siblings, Marguerite Burke, Thomas Burke, Gertrude Burke, Robert Burke, Virginia Welch, Dorothy Jordan, Esther Codyer and Donald Burke.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Aucoin (Susan) of Burlington, Carol Sullivan (Brian) of Billerica, Edward J. Aucoin (Madeline) of Newton and Gail Tully (Paul) of Needham; her grandchildren, Marybeth Pendergast (Matthew), Kathleen Willette (Ryan), Maura Jepeal (Daniel), Kerry Shivaprakash (Jayanth), Edward T. Aucoin, Sean Tully and Christopher Aucoin; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lana Pendergast, Kyla, Maxwell, Khloe Willette, Sloane Shivaprakash and Charlotte Jepeal; and her sister Carolyn Burke of Newton.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home (1479 Washington St, West Newton, MA 02465). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (1321 Centre St, Newton Centre, MA 02459).
