He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Lagana of Merrimac; his children, Nathan Anderson of Silver Spring, Ashley Hotz and Justin Franke of Mclean; his sister Janice MacFarlane (James) of Holden, MA; and his siblings-in-law, Tony Lagana (Judi) of New Hope, Bob Lagana (Cristina) of Bellingham and Gloria Bernard of Fort Worth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hotz's name to the Friends of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Inc.
