It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita Shay (Newburyport, Massachusetts), born in Lowell, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 26, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Studer and Marie Studer (Quessy); her husband Edward; her son Michael W. Shay; her grandson Sgt. Jordan M. Shay; and her brothers, Francis B. Studer and William H. Studer.
She is survived by: her sons, John E. Shay of Hampton, NH, James T. Shay (Deborah) of Marblehead, MA and Paul D. Shay (Mary) of Andover, MA; her daughter-in-law Holly J. Shay (Richard J. Scuzzarella) of Newburyport, MA; and her granddaughters, Jessica and Colleen Shay. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to The American Cancer Society.
