He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sharkey and Hazel Sharkey (Anderson); his foster parents, Carl Olson and Dorothy Olson of Merrimac; his former wife Jolene Sharkey (Turner); his children, Peter Sharkey Jr. and Roxie LaValley; and his brothers, Richard Sharkey and Frank Sharkey.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sharkey (Currier); his siblings, David Sharkey and Carol Citak (Sharkey); his sisters-in-law, Lucille Sharkey, Linda Sharkey and Joan Cook (Richard); his daughter-in-law Anne Marie Sharkey; his stepchildren, Kevin Kozuchowsk (Dawn) and Brenda Cronin; his grandchildren, Cheryl Jones (Ryan), Jennie Thurlow (Chris), Cassie Jordan (Jake Patch), Macey LaValley, Kelly Sharkey, Ryan Sharkey, Cory Sharkey, James Hargreaves and Kayleigh Alexander; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah Thurlow, Connor Jones and Zander Patch.
