He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Helen Dovenar, Caroline Dovenar, John T. Downer, Peter P. Downer and Elizabeth Dovenar McKinley; his spouse Margaret "Peggy" M. Pray; and his daughters, Susan E. Fischette and Carolyn. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
