With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Steven C. Barrett of New Bedford, Massachusetts, born in Acushnet, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2024 at the age of 73. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Nunes Barrett and Anna Virginia Barrett (Ramos); and his siblings, Bruce Barrett, Timothy Barrett, David Barrett and Pearl Stendzis.

He is survived by: his close friend Lee Bennett of New Bedford; his children, Deon M. Barrett (Amy) of Canton, Steven P. Barrett of California, Shayna R. Barrett (Rudy Bulgar) of New Bedford and Rochelle A. Dawkins (Jason) of Florida; his former wife Geraldine Barrett (Gilmette); his siblings, Diane Barros-Barrett of Fairhaven, Paul Barrett, Jr. of New Bedford, Virginia Barrett of New Bedford, Deborah Barrett Gilmette of New Bedford, Mary Barrett Maciel (John) of New Bedford, Leah Barrett of New Bedford, Douglas Barrett of New Bedford, Eli Barrett of New Bedford, Paul Silveira (Millie) of Ashland and David Silveira of New Bedford; and his grandchildren, Araeya of Grace, Jaeda Chase, Alvin of Grace, Zaleah Bulgar and Erik Dawkins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
