She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel F. Joia and Philomena Joia (Britto); her son Bruce A. Burton; her grandson Trevor Joia; and her siblings, Alice Joia, Jennie Roderick and Arthur Joia, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Sharon A. Joia of New Bedford, Brian Burton (Nancy) of Fairhaven and Kevin P. Burton of Temecula, CA; her siblings, Tina Raneo of Dennisport, Irene Walker, Hilda Gibson, Frances Dawson of New Orleans and Manuel F. Joia, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Tabitha Monaco, Erin Martin and Kyle Burton. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
