She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Bernardo, Sr.; her parents, John Freitas and Carlotta Freitas (Jesus); and her siblings, Manuel Freitas and Carlotta Paiva.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Bernardo, Jr. (Fatima Rapoza) of New Bedford, Debbie Lawlor (John) of Swansea and Mark Edward Bernardo (Ashley Mitchell) of Canton; her daughter-in-law Donna Bernardo of Dartmouth; her grandson Jay E. Bernardo (Jessica); her great grandchild Logan Varieur; her grandchildren, Bethiny L. Moseley (Dave), Joshua Lawlor, Kelly Baldwin (Andrew), Nicholas Bernardo (Kayla), Kerriann Bernardo, Aimee Bernardo and Zion Bernardo; her sister Alice Rebola of North Kingston, RI.; and also, Cecilia Grace Moseley, Ellie Bea Moseley, Stella Rose Baldwin, Noelle Andrea Baldwin, Huntley Quadros-Bernardo and Wilder Quadros-Bernardo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Bernardo's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, a cause she deeply cherished throughout her life.
