She was predeceased by: her spouse João of Deus; her father Gil of Sousa; her child João of Deus Duarte; and her siblings, Gil Frias of Sousa and Açores.
She is survived by: her children, Emanuel (Albertina) of Sousa Duarte and Anabela Powell (Joseph III) of Dighton; her sister Lucia Fragoso of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Chelsea Duarte DesRoches (Joel), Quinn Jon Duarte, Shelby Cimbron (Andrew Bonenfant), Kayla Duarte, Noah Duarte, Joseph Powell IV and John Powell; and her great grandchildren, River Duarte DesRoches and Cedar Naomi Duarte DesRoches.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home & Cremation (129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (230 Bonney St, New Bedford, MA 02744).
