He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Regina Fernandes; his parents, Alberto Tavaresa of Matos and Fonseca of Silva; his son Alexander Matos of New Bedford; his siblings, Michael Matos (Ricardo Matos), Brazil, Rosa Araujo (Lena Matos) and Brazil; his grandchildren, Chasity Matos, Tyler Matos and Naomi Gage-Matos; his great grandchildren, Gisele Sherman and Ariyah Raposo; and his close friends, Herminio, Judith Ramos, Helena Alfaia, Ana Mendes and Sonia Gonçalves.
