He was predeceased by: his spouse Maria Costa (Resendes); and his child Adolfo. He is survived by: his children, Guilherme Costa (Dina), Idalino Costa (Theresa), Lealda R. Aguiar, Lucy R. Almeida (Manuel), Gilberta R. Duarte (Afonso) and Luzia R. Mendonca (Jose). He is also survived by grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
