It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James H. Simmons Sr. of New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Simmons and Marjorie Simmons (Meaney); and his brother Sonny. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Simmons (Enos); his children, James H. Simmons, Jr. (Katrina Stacy) of New Bedford and Dawn Simmons (Namoni) of New Bedford; his brother Robert Simmons; his grandchildren, Laura Simmons (Jared Ward), Chloë Simmons, Liam Simmons and Caleb Simmons; his great grandchild Calum Ward; and his siblings, Albert, Selma, Donald, William, Shirley and Joan.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
