It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derrell Lee Lazu of New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 28, 2022, at the age of 35, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Barbie Lee Matos of New Bedford and Victor Rafael Lazu, Sr. of New Bedford; his close friend Stephanie Martinez; his siblings, Victor R. Lazu, Jr. of Dennis, MA, Giovannie Lee Lazu of Hyannis, MA and Ciara Padilla of Virginia; his nieces, Angel Lawrence, Leihani Lawrence, Imani Hanna, Mercedes Covotta and Bella Lazu; his nephew Theodore "Teddy" Lazu; and his grandmother Maria M. "Guela" Centeno. He was also cherished by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Derrell's mother, Barbie to assist with funeral expenses will be graciously accepted.
