He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Antonio F. Da Cunha of Fairhaven, Jose M. Da Cunha of New Bedford, Francisco M. Da Cunha of Maryland and Olivia Simmons of Fairhaven; and his siblings, Fernando Da Cunha of New Bedford, Evone Pereira of Acushnet, Pasculina Costa of Fairhaven and Maria Pinto of New Bedford. He was also cherished by six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
