He is survived by: his son Jonathan Melo of New Bedford; his siblings, Zelia Arruda (Antonio) of New Bedford, Maria D. Soares (Christiano) of Dartmouth and João Paul Melo (Kimberly) of Acushnet; and his goddaughters, Jessica Melo and Diane Couto. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
