She was predeceased by: her parents, Antonio Arruda Viveiros and Alice Viveiros; and her sibling Masias Barbosa. She is survived by: her husband Antonio A. Medeiros; her sons, Antonio V. Medeiros (Joanne McGehee), Horace Medeiros (Maggie Medeiros) and Benny Medeiros (Carrie Mackay); and her siblings, Fernanda Carreiro, Gilbert Arruda and Germaine Arruda. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
