He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, C. Redington Barrett and Nancy Voorhees Barrett; his siblings, Nancy, Alexandra and John David Barrett II; his wife Elizabeth Emmet Biddle; his children, Red, Connie Dawson of Dedham, MA, Diana Barrett of Dedham, MA and Morris Barrett of Brooklyn, NY; and his sister-in-law Lucy Barrett of Greenwich, CT. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and an adoring extended family.
Towards the end of his life, Rud was afflicted by Alzheimer's Disease, and while the illness eroded his memory, it never took away his kindly, affable nature.
