He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary McDonald and Dr. William J. McDonald of Brookline, MA.; and his siblings, Charles, William, J. Edward McDonald, Janet Mullin and Frances O'Brien.
He is survived by: his children, Cary Ellen (Jeff Ryan) of San Rafael, CA, Tracy (Engquist) of San Mateo, CA and Paul Jr.; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Jesse McDonald-Ryan, Zack McDonald-Ryan of San Rafael, CA, Oliver Engquist of Denver, CO, Julianne Engquist of Bend, OR, Keenan McDonald of San Diego, CA and Ella McDonald; his child Quinnipiac University; his close friend Eliane Bruno of Needham, MA.; and his sister Mimi Monaco of Honolulu, HI..
