She was predeceased by: her husband George W. Thissell; and her siblings, Francis Gillis, Anna Lavoie, Barbara Gillis and Thomas Gillis.

She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth T. Turenne (Kevin) of Uxbridge, George W. Thissell (Lorraine) of Hopkinton, Patricia A. Henry (Kent) of Laramie, Wyoming, Mary T. Faulkner (Kerry) of Natick and Joseph A. Thissell (Courtney) of Dedham; and her sibling Clare Desjarlais of The Villages, Florida.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary's memory to St. Bartholomew Church, Needham, MA.
