Steinberg and Rebecca Shapiro (Brodsky); his stepparent Goodall Shapiro (Goody); his siblings, Ann Steinberg of Boston and Rosalyn Shapiro Seale (Donald) of Milford; and his nieces and nephews, Kenneth Dittmann, Eric Brahms (Mary), Robert Dittmann (Mariam), Deborah Lewis (Robert) and Kendra Seale.
