He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Christene Buchanan and William A. Buchanan; and his grandparents, Malcom, Mary Dean (Greenwell) of Tarbot, NS, Dan Meil and Euphemia Buchanan (Taylor) of Goose Cove, NS.
He is survived by: his son Christopher MacDonald; his siblings, Sylvia Quatrale (Philip) of Plymouth, MA and Robert Buchanan (Ontario); and his nephew Robert W. Soule.
