John F. Lochtefeld Obituary
In loving memory of John F. Lochtefeld (Nantucket, Massachusetts), who departed this world on April 6, 2025 at the age of 91. John leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lochtefeld and Dorothy Vernon Champe; his sister Susan Crecca; and his daughter Beth. He is survived by: his wife Judith; his brother Chuck (Virginia); and his children, James (Rachel), Peter (Santjes), Thomas (Nancy) and Catherine Lochtefeld Sirianni (Alfredo). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at 3 Federal St, Nantucket, MA 02554. A committal service will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery - Nantucket Nantucket. From the early Eighties until Covid, he and Judy would travel for a month each winter to paint, sketch, photograph, shop at the markets, and enjoy the local cuisine, customs, museums and churches.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Artist's Association of Nantucket and Hospice of Nantucket.
