She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Hale and Catherine Hale (Cormie); her husband Bill (Bill); and her brothers, Edward, Fred, Leon, Charles, Robert and Alan.
She is survived by: her children, William Cowan Jr. (Cheryl), Gary Cowan (Lori) and Catherine Zellmann (John); her grandchildren, Gary Cowan II (Shawna), Derrick Zellmann (Jessica), Alayna Zellmann (Ted Devlin), Lauryn Stafford (Brandon) and Jennifer Cowan; her great grandchildren, Jason, Haley Cowan, Brynn MacLeay, John-David, Isla Zellmann, Noah Stafford and Kingston Salom; and her siblings, Louise Spondre, Linda Charest and David Hale. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
