She was predeceased by: her son James; and her siblings, Norma, Harry, Carl and Hollis.
She is survived by: her spouse James Donald; her daughter Connie M. Smith (Ryder); her grandchildren, Katie Caron (Lindsay) of Greenfield, MA and Peter Smith (Sarah) of Athol, MA; her brother Donald D. Renfrew of Greenfield; her sister-in-law Carolyn Renfrew; and also, Big Jim, Ryder, Sr., Jackson, Logan, Max, Lilly, Madeline, Hunter and Cooper. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Ellen Louise (Renfrew) Ryder, 81, a resident of 227 Barton Road, formerly of 249 Wells Street, died Friday, September 21, 2018 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center, 305 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA, following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's.
