He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas F. Murphy and Mary A. Murphy (Hogan); and his siblings, Thomas B. Murphy (Mary), John R. Murphy, Dorothy Harris (John), Helen Colling and Mary Parker (Giles).
He is survived by: his daughters, Kay Kay Murphy, Mary (Ron Hedspeth), Maggie, Chris and Lizzie Miller. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
