He was predeceased by: his brother Fredric C. Hammel (Melissa Hammel) of Duxbury. He is survived by: his wife Elke A. (Staubach); his children, Richard W. Hammel, Jr. of Bridgewater, Robert J. Hammel, Roxbury, Ronald D. Hammel (Deirdre) of Braintree and Annette L. Shalno of Weymouth; his grandchildren, Haley, Chase Hammel of Bridgewater, Aidan, Thomas Hammel of Braintree, Jessica and Marissa Shalno of Weymouth; and his children-in-law, Steven Shalno of Weymouth and Becky Hammel (Berge) of Bridgewater.
