He was predeceased by: his sibling Elizabeth A. Storms; and his parent Edward Doherty. He is survived by: his siblings, Winifred M. Doherty of Milton and Kathryn P. Ford of Scituate; and his parent Catherine Doherty (McLaughlin).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Boston's Children's Hospital 300 Longwood Ave Boston, MA 02115.
