He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Chase Hairyes; his children, Linda L Ponte (Tony) of South Carolina and Robert E Hairyes (Lois) of Millbury; and his sister Barbara Butler. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
