He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. McGourty and Agnes McGourty (Andersen); his son Michael P. McGourty; and his siblings, Phyllis, Walter, Charles, Francis and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Joan A. McGourty (Ditaranto); his children, Dawn Lemay (Joseph), Wendy Ghiz (Jason), Lynn Sunden (Leif) and George Army (Liz); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Megan Lemay and John Caruso; his great grandchildren, Riley and Jeremy Caruso; and his sister Donna Alexandrovich (Ronnie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
