She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin R. Merchant; her parents, Edward T. Gilks and Margaret M. Gilks (McKellick); and her son Matthew R. Merchant. She is survived by: her children, Sharon (David Faherty) of Northbridge, MA, Brenda (Brian Phillips) of Milford, MA, Kim (Donald Blauth) of Uxbridge, MA, Kelly (Joe Castignetti) of Medway, MA, Penny Muise of Mendon, MA, Carrie (Dennis Sherlock) of Bellingham, MA, Michael Merchant (Tammi) of Louisburg, TN and Mark Merchant (Cheryl) of Hopedale, MA; her daughter-in-law Kelly Merchant of Hopedale, MA; and her siblings, Carol (Ronald Daniels) of Texas, Barbara (Kenneth Roberts) of Maine, Richard Gilks of Maine, Joseph Gilks of Maine, Kenneth Gilks of Maine and Douglas Gilks of Maine. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
