He was predeceased by: his parents, William Karalus and Anna Harris (Kumalauski); and his brother John Dee Harris. He is survived by: his wife Carol Karalus (Cain); his children, Donna Colombo (Robert) of Middleborough and William J. Karalus, Jr. (Kathy) of Middleborough; his grandchildren, Courtney Colombo (Kevin Forward), Gail Colombo, William Karalus (Alisha), Kelly Karalus, Holly Colombo (Chris Crowley), Amy Karalus and Vincent Colombo; his great grandchild Emilia Karalus; and his sister Janet Curnutt of Maryland.
