He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thornton and Irene Thornton (Sullivan); his brother James Thornton; his sibling-in-law Kelley Thornton; and his nephew Kevin Thornton.

He is survived by: his wife Pat (Mazzoleni); his siblings, Gerard Thornton (Anne), William Thornton (Darlene) and Janice Thorton; his sisters-in-law, Marcia Scott (Donald), Marybeth Mazzoleni and Stephanie Cullen (Edward); and his nieces and nephews, Katie Youll, Amanda Thornton, Erin Thornton, Marissa Scott, Christopher Thornton, Nicholas Thornton and Jack Thornton.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Silva Funeral Home (80 Broadway, Taunton, MA 02780). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; American Heart Association in Jack's memory, would be deeply appreciated.
