He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Vivian Doherty; his sons, Alan Doherty (Gina), James Doherty and Robert Doherty (Amy); and his stepchildren, Larry Hanson, Karen Merianos (Peter) and Maureen Hume. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren.
