It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E. Hamel of Methuen, Massachusetts, born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Katherine Nyhan and Frederick Nyhan; her husband Arthur Hamel; her daughter Mary Elizabeth; her brother Frederick Nyhan; and her daughter-in-law Virginia Hamel (Mayo).
She is survived by: her children, Michael Hamel (Mary) of Winchester, NH, Kathleen Courtois (Michael) of Salem, NH, William Hamel (Donnie) of Presque Isle, ME, John Hamel (Catherine) of Methuen, MA, Jerome Hamel (Tatyana) and Paul Hamel (Jennifer) of San Rafael, CA.; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Mary Elizabeth, Patrick, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Gregory, Christopher, Thomas, Andrew, Jane, Anne and Katherine.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home (233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA 01844). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Monica Parish (212 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA 01844).
