He was predeceased by: his parents, Urbain Hamel and Blanche Hamel (Charist); his wife Carol Hamel (Smith); his sons, Albert, Jr. and Kenneth Hamel; his grandson Luke Hamel; and his siblings, Paul, Donald, Eugene, Urbain Hamel and Lorraine Donaghey.
He is survived by: his pets, Rex and Mickey; his children, Daniel Hamel (Deborah) of Methuen, Janyce Garcia (Alex), Lisa Hamel-Demers (Glen) of Hampstead, NH, David Hamel of Methuen, Kelly Hazelwood (David) of Pelham, NH, Charles Hamel of Methuen, Tracy Busta (David) of Methuen, Thomas Hamel of Methuen, Linda Perrone (Robert) of Methuen and Michael Hamel (Nadia) of Derry, NH.; and his siblings, Ronald Hamel, Bernadette Ambrose, Irene Lemiuex of Methuen, Estelle O'Donnell of Salem, NH, Paulette Burgess (Donald) of Derry, NH and Pauline Guay (Bill) of Haverhill. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
