Joan E. Bell Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan E. Bell of Melrose, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan E. Bell to pay them a last tribute.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Florence MacMillen (Collins) and Walter MacMillen; her husband Barry Bell of Melrose; her children, Samantha Powers (Kenny) of Melrose, Teagan Gummow (Andrew) of Salem and Brooke LeVasseur (George) of Danvers; her grandchildren, Connor, Audrey, Piper, Jameson and Rory; her siblings, John MacMillen (Lisa) of Derry, NH and Barbara O'Neill (Arthur) of Melrose; and her nieces and nephews, Catherine Finley (Jack), Kelly Smith (Christopher) and Sean O'Neill.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Incarnation Church (425 Upham St, Melrose, MA 02176). A burial will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park (185 Lake St, Peabody, MA 01960).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Melrose Alliance Against Violence, 235 W. Foster St., Melrose, MA 02176.

Norman Prince Drum & Bugle Corp. together. Joan was always smiling and happy...she always had a way of making people laugh. There is a new angel in Heaven.
