He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Carr and Alberta Carr (Harris); and his siblings, Harry, Earl, Elmer, Charles, Lesley, Hilda, Chester and Roy.

He is survived by: his wife Janice L. Madden (Madden); his children, Kathleen Muzarol (William) of Melrose, James R. Carr, Jr. (Susan) of Orlando, FL, Carolyn Barry (Mark) of Melrose and Cynthia Casey (Michael) of Melrose; his grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, William, Brandon, Jillian, Caroline, Victoria, Daniel, Patrick, Collin and Courtney; and his great grandchild Eleanor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
