He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Banks (Tower) and Charles Banks. He is survived by: his spouse Robin Banks (LaTorraca) of Medway; his sons, Mark Banks (Deborah), Christopher Banks (Anne) and Russell Banks (Kelly Tamaki); and his brothers, Charles Banks (Carol) and Peter Banks (Janice). He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
